Retreat for Prison Ministries
August 3rd-5th, 2026
Philadelphia, PA
Are you involved in ministry at jails, prisons, or detention centers? Does your ministry include accompaniment or service with individuals or families impacted by incarceration?
Catholic Prison Ministries Coalition, in partnership with the Augustinian Province of St. Thomas of Villanova, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, the Diocese of Camden and Catholic Charities of South Jersey, and Mary Mother of Captives prison ministry, invites you to an overnight retreat for prison ministers at Malvern Retreat House this August 3-5.
Rooted in Augustinian spirituality and the motto of Pope Leo XIV—In illo uno unum (“In the One, we are one”)—we gather to reflect on how our shared identity in Christ binds us across walls, divisions, and distances.
Speakers include Sr. Therese Delgenio, longtime friend and mentor of Pope Leo XVI; Fr. Jeremy Hiers, OSA, Director of the Office of Peace and Justice and Vocation Director of the Augustinian Province of St. Thomas of Villanova; and Bishop Efren Esmilla of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Together, they will invite prison ministers to renew their call to accompaniment, compassion, and communion.
